No. Live dictation and audio-file transcription run entirely on your device, using Whisper and NVIDIA Parakeet locally. If you turn on optional AI cleanup, that one step calls the AI provider you configured with your own key; nothing else is ever sent anywhere.

Yes. Dictation and transcription are fully offline once the app and its models are installed. Only the optional bring-your-own-key AI cleanup needs a connection, because it talks to your own provider.
